I adore to have a stroll through the stalls full of tempting foods, many of which are familiar to me and others, unknown to me, make me curious and I can't resist to buy them. So I imagine to taste the flavour of a faraway places: it's like my mind keeps wandering in a wonderful land!
Anyway, Borough market is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London, dating back to the 13th century.
If you are a food lover (like me), you are in the right place!
You can meet the producers and taste, look and smell different kind of aliments: spices, meat, preserves, honey, fruit, fish, seafood, wines, beers, teas, cheese, charcuterie, sweets, cakes, ice creams, pasta, breads...
Also this year, Borough market, gained the Slow Food London awards like best market.
I know very well Slow food, because it's italian, and it's a movement to support and promote sustainable and traditional artisan methods of food production. A important guarantee for the consumer who wants to buy healthy foods that are environmentally friendly.
I visit often this place because it's the only market where I can find all quality fresh ingredients to cook my Italian dishes.
